3365 – Procurement Manager

The Company
Our customer is an international family-owned trading company with its Danish office in Copenhagen. The Company has been operating in Denmark since 2003. The Company in Denmark has been growing rapidly from 10 employees 8 years ago to more than 100 now. Focus has been on developing the business and make the most of the opportunities. The Company has a young management and is characterized by a dynamic and fast-paced operation.  Internal systems and processes have not been sufficiently developed and now need to be strengthened to support an efficient operation and further growth. This includes the procurement activities.

The Project
The very busy period has demonstrated the need for a more structured approach to the procurement and stock management. The stock has over the past year grown considerably and too much capital is tied up in the stock. The Company now wishes to reduce the stock through implementation of improved planning and procurement management systems and procedures.

In addition, the Company wants to be more efficient in connection with shipment and transport.

The Company does not have the required competence and experience available within the organization. Consequently, it has been decided to engage an experienced interim manager to be responsible for designing and implementing the improvements and subsequently hand over to a permanent procurement manager to be employed subsequently.

The Candidate
We are looking for a very experienced Procurement Manager with documented good results from management of similar assignments. The right candidate must fully understand the challenges and complexities involved and have a pragmatic approach.

  • Comprehensive experience with strategic procurement combined with a good understanding of the complete supply chain/logistics.
  • Good experience with supplier management and supplier relations, including establishing change management in relation to suppliers, to reduce cost and improve reliability.
  • Experience with transport efficiency improvement and cost reduction will be a distinct advantage.
  • The candidate must have international procurement experience as the products are procured from international suppliers. Good cross-cultural experience/understanding will be an advantage.
  • Good general business understanding and working with focus on the financial results.
  • Excellent written and spoken Danish and English.

Starting date: As soon as possible
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Location: Greater Copenhagen
